Service and memorial for Bill Buchanan
Substance and others have been informed that those who wish to commemorate the memory of Bill Buchanan can do so in several ways. We will stream a story here at www.substancenews.net every two days from now until the end of the memorial service, dedicated to his life and work as a teacher. If you worked with Bill, as many Substance readers did, please send us your memories and photographs, especially JPGs of classroom and school work and we will share them here.

Maybe they should all be sung at every meeting of the Chicago Teachers Union. What do you think?
Thanks to our readers who are beginning to share their memories of Bill with the rest of us, here and elsewhere.

Bill Buchanan, "presente"
I know some of you knew "companero" professor Perry Sanders who passed away last week, a dedicated man with principles to spare, as one of you put it so well. Perry was on the GDC (General Defense Committee) of the IWW when he resided in Chicago, along with the legendary Carlos Cortez.
Yes, "Solidarity Forever" at the house meetings. Lets sing it !
