About the Substance Defense and Contribution Fund
Substance reports news that other organizations are simply scared to touch, and with good reason: the truth can get you in trouble! Most famously,On January 26, 1999, Substance was sued for $1,400,000 by the Chicago Board of Education -- which charged us with "copyright infringement" for publishing what we maintain was a public document - the CASE (Chicago Academic Standards Examinations). After four years of exepensive litigation -- and a David versus Goliath struggle -- Substance was able to force Chicago to admit that CASE was worthless. The famous CASE case eventually had a split result.
