Unfair Labor Practice Filed Against Chicago Teachers Union Spying On Members
Basis of Charge
On or about February 7, 2022, the Chicago Teachers Union sent out a request to all bargaining unit members to report fellow bargaining unit members who are "organized resistance" community school members embolden by a Sangamon County Judge's ruling striking down state wide mask mandates. (see attached supporting documents) The Chicago Teachers Union action is an arbitrary and capricious attack on its own members, since the Temporary Restraining Order did not apply to the Chicago Public Schools or its bargaining unit members.
The Union is seeking to label, categorize and punish its own bargaining unit members identifying "intentional non-compliance" thereby intentionally breeching its duty to represent by acting as the employer, to punish its own union members who do not agree with the Union's position.
The actions of the Chicago Teachers Union creates a chilling affect on both free speech and free association of bargaining unit members.
The actions of the Chicago Teachers Union is intentional misconduct in representing all bargaining unit employees by trying to identify and punish its own bargaining unit members who don't agree with the Chicago Teachers Union's position on mask mandates or agree with the Sangamon County Judge's ruling striking down state wide mask mandates.
The Chicago Teachers Union has breeched its Duty of Fair Representation of all it members by seeking to identify, classify, label and punish a group bargaining unit members that do not agree with the union's position on mask mandates.
