Lawyerization of the Labor Movement

Lawyerization of the Labor Movement - in a true union democracy, the rank-and-file run the Union: meaning all functions of the Union, including the executive to staff, are from the rank-and-file from the industry they represent. Workers know best what they need to correct their working conditions, not outsiders or grifters.

The biggest obstacle to this transformation is lawyers and the lawyerization of the labor movement who have a vested interest to get paid since they serve special interests, not the rank-and-file.

"The Law Suit" satirical cartoon by J. Bright in the late 1700's. Features a plaintiff and defendant fighting for a cow, while the judge or lawyer/attorney reaps the benefit in the middle.
