More Chicago Schools to Close for Swine Flu?

With the April 30 announcement by the Chicago Public Schools that Kilmer Elementary School, 6700 N. Greenview, will be closed indefinitely because of Swine Flu, dozens of questions begin. Both the Chicago Teachers Union and Chicago Public Schools will be catching up over the next few days. But for starters, as April turns to May, how is it that closing a school is going to prevent the spread of a disease?

Won't many of the children (presumably infected) simply be out and about across the community when they do not have to be in school?
