On line back issues of Substance can be found to almost the beginning of the 21st Century, even though the Substance print edition was suspended in September 2014. Substance has been published continuously since 1975, first in print, then in print and on line, and since 2014 on line only. Readers who want to browse can go to BACK ISSUES on the top line above and then type in a month and year. Substance is updated every month continuously as our reporters send in stories to be edited.
Substance first went on line at www.substancenews.com in February 2002. A reorganization of the site in 2007 brought us to www.substancenews.net, the current site. We are updated almost daily and work to ensure that every story holds up through the years (and decades). Without the resources to bring up all the stories that were published only in print prior to 2002, we continue to move forward and hope that some day we can also begin to move further "backward" in history. In many cases, Substance is the only available factual report of things that were taking place during those years.
