Camp Carpenter Reportedly Postponed
After hundreds of hours of preparation by more than 40 people from CORE, Carpenter, GEM, and other groups, the proposed "Camp Carpenter" protest that was scheduled to begin on the afternoon of April 8, 2009, at Carpenter Elementary School (1250 W. Erie) has apparently been postponed.

Schmidt.Late on the evening of April 7, an e-mail from Maria Hernandez, who has been leading the Camp Carpenter organizing for the parents and children of Carpenter school, stated that the event had been postponed.
Substance is trying to verify the details of the postponement, as well as the reasons for it.
As of press time for this article, the plan is for the event to take place one week later.
