May Day protests in Chicago continue struggle that began here...

Chicago's May Day marchers. Substance photo by Joyce M. StoneUnion and community activists rallied outside of the Trump Tower in downtown Chicago on Sunday, May 1, 2016, to push for changes in the corrupt capitalist system represented by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The protesters had marched from various sites in Chicago, including the Haymarket memorial (where the international May Day labor holiday began more than 100 years ago, in a strike and rally that kicked off a movement that ultimately won such basic rights as an eight-hour work day, weekends off, and overtime pay).
