Chicago Sun-Times reports a scandal when Catalyst breaks the story, but ignores the source of its stories about the Claypool bureaucracy when Substance first publishes it...
For 15 years, Chicago's corporate media has discriminated against Substance. Even though the Chicago Sun-Times dispatched a report for two full days to interview me and the people of Substance after we were sued for $1.4 million by Paul Vallas and the Board of Education in 1999, no story reporting the facts about the publication of the CASE tests in Substance ever appeared in the pages of the Sun-Times. And since that year, the Sun-Times has regularly "borrowed" stories that first appeared in Substance, but never gave credit.
Most recently the joke repeated itself on August 31, 2015, when the Sun-Times published, patting itself on the back, a story that Substance had originally published on August 29, 2015.
