National Writers Union 'Read-in' on September 6 at Powell's on Halsted

Next Saturday, September 6, 2014, the Chicago Chapter of the National Writers Union will hold a Read In (something like a Teach In) at the Powells Book Store on Halsted, just south of Roosevelt Road in Chicago. This is an event where authors are encouraged to read original stories, articles, poems or excerpts from their own writings on work, labor unions or the labor movement in general. (You dont have to be a member of a union to participate, but this is an affirmation of the work we do, the contributions working people make to the well-being of our society, and organizations we develop to advance the interests and well-being of working people.
