CORE to host two major forums on CTU history — Winning CTU Strikes

CORE, the Caucus of Rank and File Educators, is sponsoring two forums on the history of Chicago Teachers Union strikes featuring veteran Chicago teachers who will provide people with information about the history of Chicago teacher strikes and how every one of those strikes improved the schools not only for the people who worked in them but for the children who attended them.

CTU history will be reported and recorded at the CORE forums on August 28 and August 29 on the North Side and on the South Side. The forums are on Tuesday August 28 (at Sulzer Library, 4455 N. Lincoln) and Wednesday August 29 (at the Foster Park Field House, 1440 W. 84th St.) the week before the Labor Day weekend. Both forums will go from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will feature a panel discussion hosted by veteran teachers who remember the strikes (including this reporter). Time will be allowed at each forum for questions and answers.
