'This is what democracy looks like!...' Karen Lewis's speech from May 23 Chicago rally is now available through CTU on You Tube
The final speech of the massive May 23, 2012 rally at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago (and outside in Grant Park) was given by Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis to the overflow crowd of more than 4,000 union people — almost all wearing "CTU Red" — before the group went outside to link up in the largest teacher march through Chicago's Loop in Chicago history. On May 29, 2012, the CTU Communications Department posted the speech and the links. The URL is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i4pdwJWNtY&feature=youtu.be

The complete video is nearly 14 minutes long, and it will enable people to share the memories of that event (for those who were there) or to share the educational value of the vent (for those who were not there).

Sliced and Diced
This is not the whole speech. There are pretty large swaths missing. Something is better than nothing I guess. Considering what is missing, I sort of understand why it's on the cutting room floor. On the other hand, I sort of don't.
Is this what democracy looks like?
