Amy Rule to join NATO delegation from Chicago to plan May events
Crain's Chicago Business and NBC Chicago reported exclusively on March 7, 2012, that Amy Rule, wife of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, will be part of the delegation from Chicago to Brussels to help plan and coordinate the NATO summit in Chicago in May. There has been no announcement from the Mayor's Press Office about this as of day's end on March 7. Mayor Emanuel spent Wednesday, March 7, in Peoria at an event dealing with regional economic development, thereby dodging any questions about the decision by President Obama to pull the G8 Summit out of Chicago.

Amy Rule will head Chicago delegation to Brussels to prepare for NATO summit, March 07, 2012
In her first official role as first lady of Chicago, Amy Rule will lead a city delegation to Brussels later this month to help plan the NATO summit in May.
The delegation reportedly will include Gov. Pat Quinn and Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau chief Don Welsh, but not Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
Ms. Rule has kept out of the public eye during her husband's first year in office, preferring to focus on raising her three children. But she has attended fundraisers for nonprofits around town and has done volunteer work for children's causes.
According to NBC Chicago, which first reported Rule's role, other members of the delegation include Eric Whitaker (University of Chicago Medical Center executive vice president and friend of President Barack Obama), Nora Daley (Metropolis Strategies and daughter of former Mayor Richard M. Daley) and Rita Athas, president of World Business Chicago, which is overseeing work by the Chicago host committee.
