CFL launches new website
Just in time for the Labor Day weekend, the Chicago Federation of Labor has announced that it has completely revamped its website and is taking on other new media approaches to its work. In an email release on September 1, 2011, CFL president Jorge Ramirez said:
The Chicago Federation of Labor today launched a completely redesigned website at http://www.chicagolabor.org to inform, support and connect union members across the Chicago area. The new site prominently features original and featured video content, a newsroom with local stories and events, campaign action tools and photo galleries for local events.
The site offers a brand new feature where union members can submit photos from labor-related events to be posted in the CFL photo gallery.
With labor's growing presence on Twitter and Facebook, the site integrates social media platforms and allows visitors to connect to the Chicago area labor movement in new ways. (If you aren't already connected with the CFL on Facebook and Twitter, you can like us on Facebook [ https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chicago-Federation-of-Labor/179055835442001
]and follow us at *@chicagoaflcio* [ http://twitter.com/#!/chicagoaflcio ].)
The new website also offers resources such as an improved guide to union printers, vendors for banners and promotional items, transportation companies, hotels, restaurants and many other union-friendly businesses and union-made goods in the area.
We hope you will find the new site a useful, informative tool for standing up for working men and women in Chicago and Cook County.
In Solidarity,
Jorge Ramirez
President
