MEDIA WATCH: Catalyst links to Huberman Power Point on Closings
Following the January 19, 2010 announcement by Chicago Public Schools Chief Executive Office Ron Huberman that CPS will close (etc.) another 14 schools this month, Catalyst magazine published the complete PDF of Huberman's famous Hit List Power Point.

Earlier in this process, following the publication of the guidelines for closings (etc.) this school year, Huberman deftly avoided providing anyone in the media with a complete list of the schools that were eligible for closing (etc.) under his guidelines. (Substance is still waiting for an answer from Huberman to a request for that list, since it is impossible for anyone outside of central CPS to compile it; the list is based on data which are not publicly available and therefore has to be compiled by someone under Huberman's command). The January 19, 2010 Power Point was a new record for Huberman, who brags to the media that he is never without a Power Point to illustrate what he's doing. Huberman has also become famous during Board of Education meetings for looking into his laptop computer, rather than looking at people who are testifying on serious educational issues. During the public participation section of the meetings. It's as if the latest CEO of CPS has a magic tablet that will answer all questions. Huberman's main appointees can easily be picked out during Board meetings because, like their boss, they are all huddled at their CPS Dell laptops, rather than interacting with human beings.
